Section 2.1.3 “Promote beneficial onsite reuse of leaves and grass clippings and proper use of lawn and garden fertilizers and pesticides.” The Expo will have: speakers Dan & Kim Dieck presenting organic yard care at 11am; and will have compost, and yard care displays etc., we are working on zero-Phosphorous fertilizer suppliers;
Section 2.1.4 “Promote the management of streambanks and shorelines by riparian landowners to minimize erosion and restore and enhance the ecological value of waterways.” In general, the entire Expo will address this - - Jennifer Baker from Prairie Nursery discussing native plants; Holly Bodway, a shoreland landowner discussing her shoreland restoration project, and many displays promoting riparian buffers etc.;
Section 2.1.5 “Promote infiltration of residential storm water runoff from rooftop downspouts, driveways and sidewalks.” The Expo has John Gishnock of formecology at 1pm presenting rain garden design and installation (this talk should be great – Roger Bannerman recommended him); also Winn Co has a “living” rain garden at the Expo building.
